Origin's 1st Irish Festival Announces 2015 Lineup

The production lineup has been announced for the 8th annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival, running September 2-October 4 at various venues around Manhattan, including 59E59 Theaters and the Irish Arts Center.

The list of productions is as follows:

Selfie: Pat Shortt (The Cripple of Inishmaan) stars in his new comedy about what goes on during a chaotic Irish funeral. Presented by the Irish Arts Center, it runs September 10-27.

Made in China: In his new solo show, Des Bishop chronicles his journey to learn Mandarin in China so he could perform standup for a Chinese audience. It runs at Lucky Jack's, September 25 and October 1-3.

Pondling: Paul Meade directs Genevieve Hulme-Beaman’s solo show about a woman who longs for the love of her life, a 14-year-old boy. It runs September 8-October 4 at 59E59 Theaters.

Language UnBecoming a Lady: Liam O'Brien directs a play by Myles Breen that examines the life of an aging drag queen. Using the music of Streisand, Garland, and more, the work is presented at the cell September 16-27.

Little Thing Big Thing: Donal O'Kelly's darkly comic thriller follows an excon and a nun being chased across Ireland fora roll of film. Sorcha Fox stars with the playwright in this Fishamble: The New Play Company production, running September 2-27 at 59E59 Theaters.

Stoopdreamer: Pat Fenton's new theatrical experience, in which audience members are regaled with haunting memories from three residents of Brooklyn's Windsor Terrace, runs September 4-27 at The Cell under the direction of Kira Simring.

Two other mainstage productions will be revealed in the coming weeks. There will be a special Irish-themed edition of Celebrity Autobiography, featuring the likes of Michael Urie, Tate Donovan, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Geraldine Hughes, at Stage 72 on September 19 at 9:30pm.
