Oscar Isaac and More Honored at Red Bull Theater's Annual Gala

The ”Star Wars” actor was awarded the Matador Award for Extraordinary Talent in Classical Theater.

Red Bull Theater held its annual Running of the Red Bulls Gala last night, Monday, March 27, at the Edison Ballroom. During the evening Star Wars star Oscar Isaac, Olivia Reis, and George Forbes were all honored with Matador Awards for "extraordinary talent, service, or significant achievements in the Classical Theater."

The evening featured performances from Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar) and Patrick Page (Hadestown) as well as appearances from Emily Bergl, Robert Cuccioli, Paige Davis, Olympia Dukakis, Manoel Felciano, Mark Linn-Baker, Richard Maltby Jr., Kathryn Meisle, Laila Robins, Reg Rogers Derek Smith, Stephen Spinella, Nick Westrate, and more.

Red Bull Theater's season continues with The Government Inspector at the Duke on 42nd Street later this spring. The play, starring Urie, is an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's play by Jeffrey Hatcher. The story is described as follows: "When the crooked leadership of a provincial village discovers that an undercover inspector is coming to root out their commonplace corruption, the town weaves a web of bribery, lies, and utter madness."
