Paley Center Announces Panel for Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert

John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and more will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming NBC live production.

The Paley Center for Media announced a special panel devoted to NBC's upcoming live production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar, to take place on February 26 at 7:30pm.

Stars John Legend and Sara Bareilles will join NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt, executive producer Neil Meron, live television director and executive producer Alex Rudzinski, and director David Leveaux for this conversation bringing audience members an exclusive first behind-the-scenes look at Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which is set to air on Easter Sunday, April 1.

Legend will play the title role, and Bareilles will play Mary Magdalene in the live television event. Joining them in the cast is rock icon Alice Cooper, who will play King Herod. Additional casting for the telecast will be announced in the coming months. Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert will be executive-produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Marc Platt, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, John Legend, Mike Jackson, and Ty Stiklorius.

For the television broadcast, the legendary rock opera will be staged in front of a live audience at the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
