York Theatre to Present The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) Benefit Concert

The York Theatre Company will present a special gala celebration of the 15th anniversary of off-Broadway's The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) for one night only on April 9 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's. Director Pamela Hunt returns to re-create her original staging for the occasion. Cast and additional creative team will be announced shortly.
The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) features music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart, and book by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart. Cast and additional creative team for The Musical of Musicals (The Concert!) will be announced shortly.
Described as a "joyous homage to musical theater" The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) began its journey at the York in 2003. The show pays loving tongue-in-cheek tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jerry Herman, and Kander and Ebb. The plot follows an innocent ingenue who is threatened by her evil landlord when she can't pay her rent.
