WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) honors Pulitzer Prize, Tony, and Grammy Award-winning writer Marsha Norman and NYMF board of directors chair Charles Fink at its 2017 gala. The event is cohosted by Grace McLean (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and Jason SweetTooth Williams (Bounty Hunter). Comedian, writer, and actor Judy Gold (Roseanne) serves as auctioneer. Among the presenters and performers are Jason Robert Brown (Parade), Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter), Martyna Majok (Ironbound), and Shoba Narayan (The Great Comet).
The NYMF gala is an annual event celebrating the year's artistic triumphs and honoring individuals whose work has contributed to the continued vitality of musical theater. Held at the Edison Ballroom, a historic Times Square landmark, the gala is attended by musical theater enthusiasts, Broadway artists, and leading members of the theater industry. The evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction, after which guests are treated to a gourmet meal and a star-studded show.
