Neil Patrick Harris will lend his voice to the Cartoon Network animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times Culture Monster Blog. Harris will be providing the voice of a villain named “Music Meister,” in the series’ first musical episode, scheduled to run this fall.
The show, “Mayhem of the Music Meister,” will be unveiled on Friday at Comic-Con in San Diego. In “Mayhem,” Batman, along with his fellow heroes, finds himself powerless to resist the voice of the Music Meister, who is planning to control the world. There will be five songs that occupy 18 of the episode’s 22 minutes. The show will also include a love-story subplot that may ring a bell with some “Batman” fans.
Harris recently served as the host of the Tony Awards, and will also be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards. He stars on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. His stage credits include Assassins, Rent, and All My Sons.
