Tony Awards to Be Held at Beacon Theatre June 12, 2011

The 65th annual Tony Awards will be held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday, June 12, 2011. The ceremony, which honors theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, will be aired live on CBS.

As previously reported, the awards show’s longtime home, Radio City Music Hall, will not be available in June, necessitating the change in venue.

The official eligibility cut-off date will be Thursday, April 28, 2011, for all Broadway productions opening in the 2010-2011 season. Productions which meet all other eligibility requirements and open on or before the eligibility date are considered eligible for 2011 Tony Award nominations. The Tony Awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League.
