Starry Nights for Nan Knighton

The lyricist and librettist Nan Knighton, whose credits include The Scarlet Pimpernel and Saturday Night Fever, will have her lyrics sung by some of Broadway and cabaret’s brightest stars in special performances to be given on four consecutive Thursday nights at 11 p.m. at Sam’s Restaurant, 263 West 45th Street (between Broadway and 8th Avenue).

Storybook: The Lyrics of Nan Knighton will feature songs written by Knighton with such composers as Frank Wildhorn, Howard Marren, Tim DiPasqua, and Jonathan Larson. The roster of stars scheduled to appear includes Tom Andersen (April 27 and May 18), Bryan Batt (April 27 and May 18), Carolee Carmello (May 4), James Carpinello (May 11 and 18), Robert Evan (April 27 and May 18), Dee Hoty (May 4, 11, and 18), Alix Korey (May 11), Marc Kudisch (April 27 and May 4), Orfeh (May 18), Paige Price (April 27, May 4, 11, and 18), Anne Runolfsson (April 27, May 11), and Miss America 1998, Kate Shindle (April 27, May 4 and 11). The production supervisor is Stephen Kaplan.

There is a $12 cover charge and a $10 food and drink minimum for each performance. A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. For reservations, phone 212-719-5416.
