CTI’S Highest Honor to Anne Strickland Squadron

The Commercial Theater Institute will bestow the Robert Whitehead Award to theatrical producer Anne Strickland Squadron. As it has for the last eight years, the Whitehead award is given to a graduate of CTI who shows the most outstanding achievement in commercial theatre production. Squadron has produced shows for Broadway and Off-Broadway, as well as many projects for numerous non-profit theatres. Her last venture had her co-producing the celebrated Broadway production of It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues. She is currently working on the probable move to Off-Broadway of Marsha Norman’s, Trudy Blue with an association of producers, and a new holiday musical entitled King Island Christmas.

CTI provides the nation’s only formal training program for professional commercial theatre producers. Their resources and leadership have resulted in graduates that have produced over two dozen celebrated Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. Previous award winners have included Benjamin Mordecai (Golden Child), Marc Routh (Swing) and Eric Krebs (Electra). The ceremony will take place on February 15 at Tavern on the Green, located at the corner of 67th Street and Central Park West.
