Seattle Kids Spotlight: August '07
Just in case the ever-popular High School Musical isn't your thing, Theater Schmeater presents The Reluctant Dragon (through August 12), about the dragon who turns out to be scared rather than scary, while Seattle Children's Theatre and The Children's Museum put on The Green Sheep, an innovative and interactive theatre experience designed specifically for children ages 1-4. Parents and toddlers sit in the sheep pen as they take a stimulating journey through color, size and distance, searching for the ever elusive green sheep.
Philadelphia Kids Spotlight: August '07
If you missed the national tour of Disney's High School Musical when it made its stop at the Academy of Music in July, you can still catch Media Theatre's production (through August 12). Based on the hugely popular Disney Channel film, the show is the story of a high school basketball player who defies his cliquish friends to star in the school musical with an intellectually-gifted female.
London Kids Spotlight: August '07
The Open Air Theatre at Regents Park presents Fantastic Mr. Fox. After stealing one chicken too many, Fox finds himself pursued by a group of farmers who'll stop at nothing to rid themselves of the menace. But the sly Mr. Fox outwits them, and all the animals have cause for celebration.

LA Kids Spotlight: August '07
There's some highly promising family fare this month. The Actor' Gang, sponsored by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, presents an outdoors production, Titus the Clownicus (Culver City's Media Park, adjacent to the Ivy Substation, August 11-September 2), presented for free, on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Also for the younger set is Make Mine Myths (Santa Monica Playhouse, August 3), a bilingual Japanese-English musical based on American and Japanese myths. Finally, Costa Mesa's South Coast Repertory offers the musical Time Again in Oz (August 11-19), Susan L. Zeder's adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic Oz tales.
