The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps: America’s Premiere Political Musical Satire Troupe is a political comedy show that offers a mix of song and stand-up, lampooning modern political leaders and taking on the major issues of the day. Originally made up of congressional staffers, the past two decades have seen the Steps harvest the talent of finely tuned musical theater professionals from around the country.

Since they began, the Steps have recorded 35 albums, including the soon-to-be-released Orange Is the New Barack. They’ve been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS and can be heard throughout the year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials.
