About This Show

Russia’s legendary Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre makes a triumphant return to New York City Center with Uncle Vanya, the great tragicomedy of wasted potential and blighted dreams by Anton Chekhov. The production was chosen by the Guardian as one of the Best Theater Events of 2012 and won Russia’s Golden Mask Award. With a cast of acclaimed Russian actors Sergey Makovetskiy, Liudmila Maksakova, and Vladimir Simonov, director Rimas Tuminas presents a fresh take on this classic work while remaining faithful to the long-standing Stanislavski theatrical tradition.

Note: This show is performed in Russian with English subtitles.
