The Public Theater celebrated its production of George Brant's Grounded, a solo show starring Oscar winner Anne Hathaway that opens at the Anspacher Theatre on April 26. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor, the drama runs through May 24.

Grounded tells the story of an ace fighter pilot whose unexpected pregnancy forces her to leave her airborne career in favor of one operating military drones from a windowless trailer outside the Las Vegas desert. It had its New York premiere in 2013 at Walkerspace via Page 73 Productions. That staging starred Hannah Cabell and was directed by Ken Rus Schmoll.

The play marks Hathaway's first return to the Public since her performance as Viola in the 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night. Guests on hand to toast her latest stage role included her Les Misérables film costars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Samantha Barks, as well as her Twelfth Night leading man, Raúl Esparza.
