Ars Nova has announced plans to present three world premiere productions, all commissioned and developed by the company, for their 2017-18 season.

The upcoming season will include the world premiere of Sundown, Yellow Moon, a play with songs. Featuring direction by Anne Kauffman (A Life), the play is written by Rachel Bonds, with songs by the indie-folk duo the Bengsons plus additional lyrics by Bonds. Sundown, Yellow Moon is a copresentation with WP Theater. The production will run at the McGinn/Cazale Theater March-April 2017.

In spring 2018, Kauffman will also direct the world premiere of the new musical The Lucky Ones by the Bengsons and Sarah Gancher. Sonya Tayeh will choreograph.

The season is also set to include the world premiere of KPOP, an immersive musical conceived by Woodshed Collective (Empire Travel Agency) and Jason Kim (HBO's Girls). With a book by Kim, music and lyrics by Helen Park and Max Vernon, KPOP will be directed by Teddy Bergman and choreographed by Jennifer Weber. KPOP will be presented in association with Ma-Yi Theater Company and Woodshed Collective in the fall of 2017.

In addition, Ars Nova's annual festival of All New Talent, Ant Fest, will be presented June 5-30, showcasing hybrid, adventurous entertainment from the next wave of emerging talent.

Ars Nova is committed to developing and producing theater, comedy and music artists in the early stages of their professional careers. Notable past productions include Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl and Broadway's Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, currently playing at the Imperial Theatre, among others.
