Atlantic Theater Company announced its selections for the 2017-18 Amplified Reading Series, in which six new plays are presented throughout Atlantic's season with an expanded rehearsal process for more meaningful engagement with the material and the playwright.

The series will begin on October 3 with Eliza Bent's On a Clear Day I Can See to Elba, directed by Knud Adams, at Linda Gross Theater. Mary Kathryn Nagle's Sovereignty will follow on November 20 at Atlantic Stage 2's Studio A, in a reading directed by Molly Smith. On December 11, Brian Watkins's Into the Earth With You is presented in a reading directed by Danya Taymor at Linda Gross Theater. Then on December 19, also at Linda Gross, Ghazi Albuliwi's Revelation will be presented in a reading directed by Saheem Ali.

On January 29, 2018, Nina Segal's In the Night Time (Before the Sun Rises) comes to Atlantic Stage 2. And on March 19, Geraldine Inoa presents Reckoning: Furies From a New Queer Nation at the same venue in a reading directed by David Mendizábal.

Atlantic also announced that they will grant Launch commissions to Abby Rosebrock and Tori Sampson in 2017-18. These commissions are offered annually to early career playwrights who have not yet received an off-Broadway production and have fewer than three commissions from mid- to large-size theater companies.

Finally, Amy Staats has been named the Atlantic's Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence this season.
