Broadway Records has announced that the original off-Broadway cast recording of off-Broadway's A Dog Story will be released digitally and in stores on January 20. A new show with music and lyrics by Gayla D. Morgan and book by Eric H. Weinberger, A Dog Story ended its recent run at the Loft at the Davenport Theatre on January 15.

David Perlman and Stefanie Brown star as Roland and Blair in the production, which also featured Lindsie VanWinkle as Miranda, Brian Ray Norris as Guy, Alex Kidder (swing), and Chris Blem (swing). Justin Baldridge directed, with music direction by Dylan MarcAurele.

A Dog Story is described as "a charming new musical comedy about Roland, a career-driven lawyer, who thinks he must be married to make partner." The plot continues as follows, "To solve his dilemma, he gets a puppy as a chick magnet. Through first dates, angry tangos, and a sudden disappearance, Roland discovers there's more to life when you 'get a dog!'" The show is produced by Seaglass Theatrical and coproduced by Waterfront Theatrics and Martha Robinson.
