Casting is set for the world premiere of John Patrick Shanley's latest play, Prodigal Son.

Prodigal Son is described as "a passionate, explosive portrait of a young man on the verge of salvation or destruction." The story follows a gifted yet violent 17-year-old boy from the Bronx who suddenly finds himself in a private school in New Hampshire. Two faculty members subsequently struggle to decide whether the boy is a star or a disaster.

Leading the company are Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (House), Chris McGarry (Doubt), Timothée Chalamet (Homeland), Annika Boras (Chair), and David Potters.

The creative team for Prodigal Son will feature Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Ann Roth (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design) and Fitz Patton (sound design). Tony, Oscar, and Pulitzer Prize winner Shanley also directs.

The production begins previews January 19, 2016, in advance of a February 9 opening, at New York City Center – Stage I.
