The Founder’s Project presentation of Charles L. Mee’s First Love will run at the Cherry Lane Theatre June 7-July 8 with an official opening set for June 15. Kim Weild will direct.

First Love is described as follows: "After several decades, Edith and Harold find themselves unexpectedly reunited on a park bench. Through the eyes of celebrated playwright Charles L. Mee, First Love embraces a couple in their twilight years, entertains the joys and pains of romance, and explores how a chance encounter can change your life regardless of age."

Mee's other work includes Big Love, True Love, bobrauschenbergamerica, Hotel Cassiopeia, Orestes 2.0, Trojan Women A Love Story, Summertime, and Wintertime among other plays — all of them available online here.

The Cherry Lane production of First Love will feature set design by Edward Pierce, lighting design by Paul Miller, costume design by Theresa Squire, and sound design by Jill B.C. Du Boff.

The Founder's Project presents plays by seasoned artists, who, over the course of their professional lives, helped shape off-Broadway. In 2016 for its inaugural season, the Founder's Project presented Out of the Mouths of Babes, written by veteran playwright Israel Horovitz and featuring renowned artists Judith Ivey and Estelle Parsons.
