Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo Othello Announces Dates

The New York Theatre Workshop production will also star Rachel Brosnahan.

New York Theatre Workshop has announced dates for its highly anticipated mounting of Shakespeare's Othello, directed by Tony winner Sam Gold (Fun Home). The production will begin previews November 22 in advance of a December 12 opening and will run through January 18, 2017.

As previously announced, Othello will star David Oyelowo (Selma) and Daniel Craig (Spectre) as Othello and Iago, respectively, along with Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards) as Desdemona, David Wilson Barnes (Bridge of Spies) as the Duke/Ludovico, Marsha Stephanie Blake (Orange Is the New Black) as Emilia, Blake DeLong (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) as Soldier, Glenn Fitzgerald (Dirty Sexy Money) as Brabantio, Slate Holmgren (King Lear) as Montano, Anthony Michael Lopez (The Penalty) as Soldier, Matthew Maher (The Flick) as Roderigo, Nikki Massoud (Zealot) as Bianca, Kyle Vincent Terry (Robin Hood) as Soldier, and Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story) as Cassio.

The creative team will include scenic design by Andrew Lieberman, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Jane Cox, sound design by Bray Poor, fight direction by Thomas Schall, voice direction by Andrew Wade, and dramaturgy by Michael Sexton.

Tickets will go on sale on October 5.
