Dear Evan Hansen will add an extra benefit performance to its run at Second Stage Theatre on Sunday, May 22, at 8pm. Tickets to the special performance are $500, with all proceeds funding Second Stage Theatre’s educational initiatives, including free student matinees and internships. The show will play its final performance on May 29.

Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, choreography by Danny Mefford, and direction by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif.

The plot is described as follows: "All his life Evan Hansen has felt invisible. To his peers, to the girl he loves, sometimes even to his own mother. But that was before he wrote the letter — that led to the incident— that started the lie — that ignited a movement – that inspired a community — and changed Evan's status from the ultimate outsider into the somebody everyone wants to know. But how long can Evan keep his secret? And at what price?"

The company of Dear Evan Hansen includes Ben Platt as the title character, Evan Hansen, as well as John Dossett as Larry, Laura Dreyfuss as Zoe, Mike Faist as Connor, Rachel Bay Jones as Heidi, Kristolyn Lloyd as Alana, Will Roland as Jared, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Cynthia.
