Lincoln Center Theater has named Evan Cabnet artistic director of LCT3, a theater that produces the work of new artists and aims to develop new audiences. The appointment will be effective July 1. Cabnet succeeds Paige Evans, LCT3’s original artistic director, who was recently named artistic director of the Signature Theatre Company. Also effective July 1, longtime LCT3 associate Natasha Sinha will be promoted to associate director/LCT3.

"I'm thrilled and humbled to assume the position of Artistic Director at LCT3," said Evan Cabnet in a statement. "The championing of new playwrights has always been my passion, and I’m very excited to continue this work in this new capacity. Paige Evans has always been my mentor and advocate, and although she leaves big shoes to fill, I look forward as I turn from directing to producing to introducing audiences to new voices, new stories, and new artists."

Cabnet's Broadway directing projects have included this season's Thérèse Raquin, starring Keira Knightley, as well as The Performers, Seascape, The Rivals, and The Look of Love. He also recently helmed the Vineyard Theatre's acclaimed production of Gloria by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
