The off-Broadway musical Forever Plaid will return to New York as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The three-performance run, April 5-7, will run at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Café.

Directed by original creator Stuart Ross, the production will feature Sean Bell as Smudge, Nick Cearley as Sparky, Joshua David Cavnaugh as Frankie, and Justin Sargent as Jinx, with special appearances by original New York and touring cast members including David Engel, Drew Geraci, Paul Castree, Ryan Perry, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Michael Winther, Paul Binotto, Bobby Randle, Donnie Kehr, and Garris Wimmer. David Hancock Turner serves as musical director, with arrangements and musical continuity by James Raitt. Jason Buell is production coordinator and Richard Martini produces.

Featuring such hits as "Chain Gang," "Day-O," and "Heart and Soul," '"Forever Plaid'' is the story of a semiprofessional harmony group that met their demise on the way to their first big gig. But the universe smiles and allows them to slip through a hole in the ozone layer to do the show that they never got to do in life.
