Broadway vet Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera) will succeed Norm Lewis as the next Sweeney Todd in the Tooting Arts Club production of the musical at the Barrow Street Theatre.

Lewis will depart the company on August 13, with Panaro joining the cast beginning August 29. Also enterting the production that day are Jake Boyd (Anthony), Eryn LeCroy (Johanna), Michael James Leslie (Judge Turpin), and John Rapson (The Beadle). Brad Oscar will play his final performance on August 20, while Matt Doyle, Alex Finke, and Jamie Jackson will end their runs on August 27. David Michael Garry will play Sweeney Todd August 15-27, while Colin Anderson will play The Beadle August 22-27. Carolee Carmello, Stacie Bono, and John-Michael Lyles continue in principal roles, with Matt Leisy, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman, Monet Sabel, and Anne Tolpegin rounding out the cast.

The production comes to Manhattan following sold-out runs in London, where the show debuted in Harrington's Pie and Mash Shop, the oldest continuously operating pie shop in Britain. Directed by Bill Buckhurst, the Stephen Sondhem-Hugh Wheeler musical is set in a working pie-shop environment re-created at the Barrow Street Theatre. The revival opened March 1.
