Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award winner Kathleen Turner will step in as director of the world-premiere, off-Broadway production of Would You Still Love Me If…, written by John S. Anastasi.

Nona Gerard was previously slated to direct the play, which was set to star Turner and Grammy nominee Deborah Cox. Cox, however, has also exited the production, due to conflicts with its October performance schedule. Roya Shanks will now star opposite Turner, with Rebecca Brooksher and Sofia Jean Gomez also featured in the cast.

Would You Still Love Me If… is described as "a love story that tackles the issue of transgender identity." It follows Danya and Addison, caring, intelligent young women with a promising future and a baby on the way, but there's a lifelong secret that threatens to destroy what's precious to them.

The creative team includes Brian Prather (scenic design), Tristan Raines (costume design), Zach Blane (lighting design), Jeremy Oleksa (sound design), Leah J. Louka (hair design), and David Friedman (original music).

Performances will begin September 26 at New World Stages in advance of an October 10 opening.
