Meet the Cast of Sweet Charity, Starring Sutton Foster

The 1966 song-and-dance musical will get an off-Broadway makeover.

The New Group's reimagined production of Sweet Charity begins performances November 2 (in advance of a November 20 opening) at the Pershing Square Signature Center, with two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster leading the company as Charity Hope Valentine.

The classic musical, now celebrating its 50th anniversary, features a book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Dorothy Fields. The intimate off-Broadway production is helmed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman with choreography by Tony nominee Joshua Bergasse.

Joining Foster in the cast are Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Mormon) as Nickie, Tony winner Shuler Hensley (Waiting for Godot) as Oscar, Sasha Hutchings (Hamilton) as Rosie/Ensemble, Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women on the Verge…) as Ursula/Ensemble, Emily Padgett (Bright Star) as Helene, and Joel Perez (Fun Home) as Herman/Vittorio/Daddy Brubeck, along with Yesenia Ayala, Darius Barnes, Cody Williams, Donald Jones Jr., and James Brown III. Lori Ann Ferreri and Ryan Worsing serve as swings.
