Mint Theater will present the first revival in 95 years of Stanley Houghton's play Hindle Wakes. Performances begin December 23 and continue through February 17, 2018, at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row. Opening night is set for January 18.

Gus Kaikkonen will direct a cast that features Jeremy Beck, Rebecca Noelle Brinkley, Emma Geer, Jonathan Hogan, Sara Carolynn Kennedy, Ken Marks, Brian Reddy, Sandra Shipley, and Jill Tanner. Hindle Wakes will have scenic design by Charles Morgan, costume design by Sam Fleming, lighting design by Xavier Pierce, and sound design and original music by Jane Shaw.

A press release describes the show as follows: "It’s 'Wakes Week' in Hindle; the mill is closed and the workers are idle. Fanny Hawthorn is relaxing at the seashore with a girlfriend when she runs into Alan Jeffcote, the mill owner’s son. Alan takes Fanny to a hotel in Wales for a few days of fun, but the fun stops when their parents find out. Of course, Alan should marry Fanny — who cares if Alan is already engaged? Should Alan do the right thing and make an honest woman of Fanny, or should he do the right thing and stand by his fiancée? The work premiered in 1912 in London, though the play only lasted 30 performances in New York City later that year. It was revived in 1922."
