A Dog Story, a new musical with music and lyrics by Gayla D. Morgan and book by Eric H. Weinberger, has announced that it will end its run at the Loft at the Davenport Theatre on January 15. At the time of the closing the show will have played 14 previews and 62 performances.

David Perlman and Stefanie Brown star as Roland and Blair in the production, which also features Lindsie VanWinkle as Miranda, Brian Ray Norris as Guy, Alex Kidder (swing), and Chris Blem (swing). The production is directed by Justin Baldridge and musical-directed by Dylan MarcAurele.

A Dog Story is described as "a charming new musical comedy about Roland, a career-driven lawyer, who thinks he must be married to make partner." The plot continues as follows, "To solve his dilemma, he gets a puppy as a chick magnet. Through first dates, angry tangos, and a sudden disappearance, Roland discovers there's more to life when you 'get a dog!'" The show is produced by Seaglass Theatrical and coproduced by Waterfront Theatrics and Martha Robinson.

The creative team includes scenic design by Lauren Mills, sound design by Tyler Kieffer, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, costume design by Travis Chinick, and choreography by Shannon Lewis. Orchestrations are by Frank Galgano and Matt Castle.
