The Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has announced an extension through May 27, making the show the longest-running musical ever to play the Barrow Street Theatre.

This production of Sweeney Todd comes to Manhattan following sold-out runs in London, where the show debuted in Harrington's Pie and Mash Shop, the oldest continuously operating pie shop in Britain. Directed by Bill Buckhurst, the Stephen Sondhem-Hugh Wheeler musical is set in a working pie-shop environment re-created at the Barrow Street Theatre. The revival opened March 1.

The current cast includes Hugh Panaro (Sweeney Todd) and Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (Mrs. Lovett), with Stacie Bono (Pirelli and Beggar Woman), Jake Boyd (Anthony), Eryn LeCroy (Johanna), Michael James Leslie (Judge Turpin), John-Michael Lyles (Tobias), and John Rapson (the Beadle). The cast also includes Colin Anderson, Matt Leisy, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman, and Monet Sabel. Casting for performances beginning February 27 will be announced soon.
