Friends Star Matthew Perry to Bring His Play to New York

Perry’s ”The End of Longing” will have its American debut at MCC Theater.

The American premiere of The End of Longing, the hit West End drama by Friends star Matthew Perry, will be part of MCC Theater's 2016-17 season.

Perry will rework the script for the New York engagement, which will take place next May. Lindsay Posner, who directs the London production, will repeat his work here. Perry is also set to star during the show's run from May 18-June 24, though the remaining cast members, are still to be announced. The West End version features Jennifer Mudge, Christina Cole, and Lloyd Owen.

The season opens with the New York stage return of two-time Tony winner Judith Light, who will appear in the Neil LaBute solo show All the Ways to Say I Love You, directed by Leigh Silverman, from September 6-October 9.

The lineup is also set to feature the hit Chicago Shakespeare Theatre production of Ride the Cycolone, written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, and directed by Rachel Rockwell, from November 9-December 18, as well as Anna Jordan's Yen, directed by Trip Cullman, from February 2-March 12.
