Gingold Theatrical Group will present a one-night-only staged reading of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession as part of the 2017 season of Project Shaw. The performance will be held at Symphony Space on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 7pm.

Directed by David Staller, the cast will feature Bill Kux (The Trip to Bountiful), Tony nominee Charlotte Moore (The Weir), A.J. Shively (Bright Star), Victor Slezak (The Graduate), Tony nominee J. Smith-Cameron (Juno and the Paycock), Talene Monahon (The Wild Party at Encores!), and Tony nominee Paxton Whitehead (The Importance of Being Earnest).

Written in 1893, Mrs. Warren's Profession follows the relationship between Mrs. Kitty Warren and her daughter, Vivie. Kitty Warren has been financing her brilliant daughter's education and upbringing by managing a string of highly lucrative "hotels" for traveling gentlemen. When her daughter finds out, confrontations ensue.

A 1905 performance in New York was interrupted by the police, who arrested the cast and crew for violating New York City's version of the Comstock laws. The play has since received five Broadway revivals.
