Rhea Perlman Joins Cast of David Rabe's Good for Otto

The New Group announced that Rhea Perlman will join the cast of its New York premiere production of David Rabe's Good for Otto. She will take over for the previously announced Rosie O'Donnell, who is unable to appear because of illness. Good for Otto will run February 20-April 1 at the Pershing Square Signature Center, with opening night set for March 8.

Perlman joins a cast that includes F. Murray Abraham, Kate Buddeke, Laura Esterman, Nancy Giles, Lily Gladstone, Ed Harris, Charlotte Hope, Mark Linn-Baker, Amy Madigan, Rileigh McDonald, Kenny Mellman, Maulik Pancholy and Michael Rabe.

Under the direction of Scott Elliott, the creative team includes Derek McLane (scenic design), Jeff Mahshie (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), and Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen (sound design).

Set in a Connecticut mental health center, the work follows patients, families, and doctors as they teeter on the brink of breakdown and survival. Good for Otto premiered at the Gift Theatre in Chicago, directed by Michael Patrick Thornton.
