Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Ripcord, written by David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Good People), has changed the date of its first performance to October 1. The play was previously set to begin previews on September 29 at New York City Center – Stage I. The production's official opening will remain October 20.

Directed by Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, the production will star Marylouise Burke (Fish in the Dark), Emmy winner Holland Taylor (Ann), Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), and Glenn Fitzgerald (The Sixth Sense). Completing the company are Daoud Heidami (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) and Nate Miller (Of Good Stock).

Taylor will play Abby, a cantankerous tenant at the Bristol Palace Assisted Living Facility, who is forced to share her quarters with the infuriatingly chipper Marilyn (Burke), and turns their relationship into a dangerous game of one-upmanship. The "high-stakes comedy about two women of a certain age" locks the pair in a no-holds-barred battle to the death.
