Theater-Book Publisher Roberta Pereira Joins Playwrights Realm Staff

The Playwrights Realm has named Roberta Pereira as the company’s new producing director.

Pereira was previously a producer at Bisno Productions, where she developed and produced plays and musicals, including The Opponent by Brett Neveu, Mothers and Sons by Terrence McNally, and Grace by Craig Wright, among others. She is also the cofounder and managing editor of theater-book publisher Dress Circle Publishing.

"I have long known Roberta to be a brilliant and imaginative producer, a champion of new and ambitious work, and a passionate and creative theater maker," Playwrights Realm artistic director Katherine Kovner said in a statement. "I couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable, visionary partner with whom to lead the Playwrights Realm as we begin our ninth season."

The Playwrights Realm will next produce Anna Ziegler's A Delicate Ship at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons from August 18-September 12.
