Meet Michael Cumpsty and Mike Crane, Stars of The Body of An American
The stars of the upcoming Primary Stages/Hartford Stage coproduction of Dan O'Brien's The Body of an American met the press at their rehearsal studio on February 3. The play ran January 7-31 at Hartford Stage, before moving off-Broadway to the Cherry Lane Theatre, February 10-March 20.
Winner of the 2014 Horton Foote Prize for Outstanding New American Play and the inaugural Edward M. Kennedy Award, The Body of an American tells the true story of an extraordinary friendship as two men, a war photojournalist and playwright, journey from some of the most dangerous places on earth to the depths of the human soul.
Jo Bonney directs a company made up of Tony nominee Michael Cumpsty (Machinal) and Michael Crane (Gloria). The production features scenic design by Richard Hoover, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu, sound design by Darron L West, and projection design by Alex Basco Koch.
