The Gabriels Trilogy Adds Marathon Performances at the Public Theater

Richard Nelson’s play series will offer a handful of performances in repertory.

The Public Theater has announced that it will be adding marathon performances of Richard Nelson's The Gabriels: Election Year in the Life of One Family trilogy. All three plays will run in repertory on Saturday, December 10; Sunday, December 11; Wednesday, December 14; Saturday, December 17; and Sunday, December 18.

The second play in the trilogy, What Did You Expect?, begins previews tomorrow, September 10, and has been extended one week through October 9, with an official press opening on September 16. The final play in the cycle, Women of a Certain Age, begins performances on November 4, with an official press opening on November 8. The first play, Hungry, ran at the Public Theater last March during its 2015-16 season.

Directed by Nelson, the complete cast of The Gabriels features features Meg Gibson (Karin Gabriel), Lynn Hawley (Hannah Gabriel), Roberta Maxwell (Patricia Gabriel), Maryann Plunkett (Mary Gabriel), Jay O. Sanders (George Gabriel), and Amy Warren (Joyce Gabriel).

All three plays feature scenic design by Susan Hilferty and Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Jennifer Tipton, and sound design by Scott Lehrer and Will Pickens.
