The Robber Bridegroom Sets Cast Album Release Date
Ghostlight Records has announced that it will release the previously announced cast recording of The Robber Bridegroom on September 9.
The Roundabout Theatre Company production, which ran off-Broadway earlier this year at the Laura Pels Theatre, starred Steven Pasquale, Leslie Kritzer, Andrew Durand, Evan Harrington, Greg Hildreth, Ahna O’Reilly, Nadia Quinn, Lance Roberts, and Devere Rogers. The musical features a book and lyrics by Alfred Uhry, music by Robert Waldman, and orchestrations by Justin Levine and Martin Lowe.
Based on the short story by Eudora Welty, The Robber Bridegroom takes place in the Natchez Trace in Mississippi, a dangerous and mysterious corner of the country teeming with a rogue's gallery of beguiling con men, hucksters, and charlatans. Chief among them is Jamie Lockhart — fair-faced gentleman by day, hardhearted bandit of the woods by night. When he falls for the beautiful daughter of a wealthy planter, his world and code of ethics are turned upside down.
Tony nominee Alex Timbers helmed the production, with choreography by Connor Gallagher and music direction by Justin Levine.
