Watch Scenes From Too Heavy for Your Pocket at Roundabout Underground

Jiréh Breon Holder’s new drama is set on the backdrop of the 1960s Freedom Riders.

Jiréh Breon Holder's new play Too Heavy for Your Pocket, directed by Margot Bordelon, is now enjoying an extended run at Roundabout Theatre Company's Black Box Theatre through November 26.

The play is set in Nashville in the summer of 1961 where Freedom Riders are preparing to embark on a courageous journey into the Deep South and 20-year-old Bowzie Brandon (Brandon Gill) gives up a life-changing college scholarship to join the movement. Take a look at scenes from the production, featuring Eboni Flowers, Hampton Fluker, and Nneka Okafor, who lends the drama some musical flourish.
