WP Theater Announces 2017-18 Season Lineup

WP Theater, formerly known as Women’s Project Theater, has announced its 2017-18 lineup, its 40th anniversary season.

Kicking it off will be the world premiere of One Night Only (Running as Long as We Can) by Monica Bill Barnes & Company in September 2017. Created by Monica Bill Barnes, Anna Bass, and Robert Saenz de Viteri, the production is choreographed by Barnes and designed by Kelly Hanson and Jane Cox. Also in the fall, WP will partner with Colt Coeur for the four-play reading season Parity Plays, celebrating the work of female and trans writers and directors.

In January 2018, WP Theater and the Bushwick Starr, in association with New Georges, will present [Porto] by Kate Benson, directed by Lee Sunday Evans. The work received its world premiere at the Bushwick Starr in 2017.

In March of 2018, the WP Pipeline Festival will take place, with works by Donnetta Lavinia Grays, M.J. Kaufman, Sylvia Khoury, Zoe Sarnak, and Leah Nanako Winkler. Melissa Crespo, Morgan Gould, Ellie Heyman, Tyne Rafaeli, and Mo Zhou serve as directors, with Roxanna Barrios, SallyCade Holmes, Nidia Medina, Laura Ramadei, and Yuvika Tolani producing.
