Performances Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story start this evening at Bucks County Playhouse.

Only in the spotlight for two years, Buddy Holly’s influence on modern music is undeniable. One of the most prominent musicians of his generation, he burst onto the scene in 1957 and left an indelible mark before his tragic death in 1959. The show features more than 20 Holly's greatest hits, including "That'll Be The Day," "Peggy Sue," "Oh Boy," and many more.

Hunter Foster directs the show, which is choreographed by Lorin Latarro. Alan Janes provides the book to go with Holly’s music and lyrics, and the cast features John Dewey as Buddy Holly, Karak Osborn as "The Big Bopper" J.P. Richardson, Gilbert Sanchez as Ritchie Valens, Zach Cossman as Jerry Allison, James David Larson as Joe B. Mauldin, Natalie Haro as Maria Elena Santiago, Andrew Frace as Hipockets Duncan, Kent M. Lewis as Norman Petty, Max Sangerman as Tommy Allsupp, Elizabeth Nestlerode as Vi Petty, and Brandi Massey as Apollo Performer.

The creative team includes Paul Masse (musical director), Adam Koch (set design), Nicole V. Moody (costume design), Gina Scherr (lighting design), and Matthew Given (sound design).

Performances will run through July 16.
