Heidi Blickenstaff (Something Rotten!) and Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening) star in Disney's Freaky Friday, directed by Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), at La Jolla Playhouse. Check out photos from the production in the gallery below.

Freaky Friday, based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and two hit Disney films, is the story of a mother and daughter who magically swap bodies for 24 chaotic hours. It has been given a contemporary spin with a book by Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights) and score by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal).

Completing the cast is Jeannette Bayardelle (The Color Purple), Eean Cochran (Mamma Mia!), Joseph Dellger (Ragtime), Jessie Hooker (Legally
Blonde
), David Jennings (Once Upon a Mattress), Storm Lever (The Wringer), Mary Jo McConnell (Beauty and the Beast), Jake Heston Miller (Oliver!), Tony Neidenbach (Anything Goes), Jennafer Newberry (Brother, Can You Spare a Dime), Chris Ramirez (Icon), Julian Ramos (West Side Story), Alet Taylor (The Producers), Jason SweetTooth Williams (Once Upon a Mattress), Sumi Yu (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). Katie Banville (Gypsy) and Jermaine R. Rembert (Memphis) are the production's swings.

Freaky Friday will run at La Jolla Playhouse through March 12 before heading from San Diego to the Cleveland Playhouse and Houston's Alley Theatre. As previously announced, Blickenstaff and Hunton will lend their voices to a studio recording of Freaky Friday, to be released March 17 by Walt Disney Records.

The creative team includes Andrew Graham (music director), Sergio Trujillo (choreography), Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), Emily Rebholz (costume Design), Howell Binkley (lighting design), Kai Harada and Brian Ronan (sound design).
