San Diego's Old Globe Theatre Announces 2017-18 Season

San Diego's Old Globe Theatre has announced its 201718 season.

The lineup will kick off with the musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein. Directed by Jack Cummings III, it runs September 7-October 22.

Also on tap is a new stage adaptation of Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Sons, directed by Carey Perloff, running May 12 – June 17, 2018.

Anna Ziegler's The Wanderers, directed by Barry Edelstein, runs April 5-May 6, with José Cruz González's American Mariachi, directed by James Vásquez, on tap March 23-April 29.

Karen Zacarías’s Native Gardens will have its West Coast premiere under the direction of Edward Torres (May 26-June 24).

James Lecesne's solo show The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey takes the stage under the direction of Tony Speciale, September 30-October 29.

For children, Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! returns November 4-December 24, with Vásquez directing. Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, presented with London's Old Vic, will run July 3-August 12.
