A digital lottery for tickets to Hamilton at San Francisco's SHN Orpheum Theatre has been announced. The lottery, which will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance on March 10, will make 44 tickets available for each show at $10 each.

Seat locations vary per performance, with some seats located in the front row. The digital lottery will begin two days before each performance.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow's biography of founding father Alexander Hamilton. The musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War, and was the new nation's first treasury secretary. The production began performances at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre on August 6, 2015.

The Broadway musical won eleven 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Score, Book of a Musical, Direction of a Musical, Choreography, and Orchestrations.

Casting for the national tour of Hamilton features Tony nominees Joshua Henry and Rory O'Malley as Aaron Burr and King George, alongside Michael Luwoye in the title role. They are joined as Solea Pfeiffer as Eliza Hamilton, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Angelica Schuyler, Amber Iman as Peggy and Maria, Isaiah Johnson as George Washington, Rubén J. Carbajal as John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton, Jordan Donica as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, and Mathenee Treco as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison.
