Bryan Cranston, Woody Harrelson, Christina Hendricks Set for Live Read of Alan Ball’s American Beauty

Bryan Cranston and Christina Hendricks will star in Jason Reitman’s Live Read of the acclaimed 1999 film American Beauty, to be performed September 6 at the Toronto International Film Festival, according to Entertainment Weekly. Alan Ball won an Academy Award for the film’s screenplay.

Cranston and Hendricks, best known for their performances on the AMC shows Breaking Bad and Mad Men, will play Lester and Carolyn Burnham, roles originated on screen by Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening.

They are joined by stage veterans Adam Driver (Ricky Fitts) and Woody Harrelson (Col. Frank Fitts), as well as Mae Whitman (Jane Burnham), Sarah Gadon (Angela Hayes), Nick Kroll (Buddy Kane), and George Stroumboulopoulos (Jim Olmeyer).
