Creating Mischief on Broadway
Mischief Theatre members Dave Hearn, Charlie Russell, and Nancy Zamit on how they went from a fledgling theater company to an international sensation.
It started in a rehearsal room at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where every Sunday a group of students would meet to work on pieces they’d written in hopes of finding a stage and an audience for their hilarious combination of slapstick and British farce. It wasn’t long after that Mischief Theatre was born and went from Edinburgh Fringe to the West End and now Broadway. Mischief members Hearn, Russell, and Zamit talk about the company’s early dream, the shows they have playing worldwide, and the future plan they have for their producer J.J. Abrams.
