Broadway Opens the Door to Marvin's Room

Janeane Garofalo, Lili Taylor, and Celia Weston lead the cast of the acclaimed play's Broadway debut.

Scott McPherson's 1990 play Marvin's Room opened last night at the American Airlines Theatre, kicking off Roundabout Theatre Company's 2017-18 Broadway season. Directed by Anne Kauffman, the production stars Janeane Garofalo and Lili Taylor as estranged sisters Lee and Bessie, along with Celia Weston who joins them onstage as their aunt Ruth. We caught up with the ensemble after the curtain came down to talk about the family drama, which revolves around illness and mutual caretaking. However, in the hands of three fabulous actors, the poignant story is delivered with plenty of laughs.
