Christian Borle Gives Us a Golden Ticket Into the World of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Borle, Jackie Hoffman, Emily Padgett, and more discuss this new musical from the creators of Hairspray.

The classic Roald Dahl story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is headed to Broadway. This big new musical, written by Hairspray scribes Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and Scottish playwright David Greig, is directed by Jack O'Brien, who's got some fresh ideas and a game cast led by Christian Borle as Willy Wonka. At a recent press junket, TheaterMania caught up with Borle and O'Brien, as well as scene-stealing cast members including Jackie Hoffman and Emily Padgett, to discuss creating this world of pure imagination.
