Elizabeth McGovern and Rebecca Taichman Play With Time and the Conways

McGovern stars in Taichman's new Broadway production of J.B. Priestley's drama.

Roundabout Theatre Company kicks off its 2017-18 season with Time and the Conways, a drama by J.B. Priestley that hasn't been seen on Broadway since its premiere in 1938. Directed by Tony winner Rebecca Taichman, the production stars Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern as the snobbish matriarch of the wealthy Conway family at the end of World War I. Both actor and director were interested in the rare opportunity this play presented. Time and the Conways will introduce new audiences to a piece that was ahead of its own time when it was first presented, jumping back and forth in chronology and commenting on the societies of a variety of eras. They discussed the piece at a recent press event.
