Indecent Brings Kissing, Dancing, and Political Import to Broadway on Opening Night

Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel makes her Broadway debut with the new play.

Paula Vogel's new Broadway play Indecent is inspired by the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch's play God of Vengeance. On opening night, the cast and crew celebrated the milestone not only for themselves, but also for the God of Vengeance company, whose Broadway run was cut short due to charges of obscenity. "It's a profound sense of achievement, not for me…but for the original company of God of Vengeance," actress Katrina Lenk told TheaterMania.
