Lindsay Mendez Sings Jazz Standard "Lazy Afternoon" from The Golden Apple

Rehearsals have begun for the upcoming New York City Center Encores! production of this 63-year-old musical.

The 1954 musical The Golden Apple, written by Jerome Moross and John LaTouche, is returning to the Big Apple in a new production of New York City Center Encores! under the direction of Michael Berresse. While the show hasn't been seen on Broadway since its original production, it's notable for introducing the jazz standard "Lazy Afternoon" into the American canon. At City Center, it'll be sung by Broadway favorite Lindsay Mendez. In the rehearsal room, Mendez and her costars performed a few tunes as a preview.
