Lindsey Ferrentino, Jamie Brewer, and More Discuss the Inclusive Message of Amy and the Orphans

Brewer plays the title role in this new play. So does Edward Barbanell.

Two versions of a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino are being performed with a similar ensemble, led by Debra Monk and Mark Blum, at Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre. When Jamie Brewer, an actress with Down syndrome, is taking on the leading role, it's called Amy and the Orphans. When Edward Barbanell is playing the title role, the work is called Andy and the Orphans. The company, as well as Ferrentino and director Scott Ellis, recently sat down with TheaterMania to discuss an inclusive theatrical experience unlike anything New York has recently seen.
